Clarity in Human-Centric AI Analysis and Design

With the United Nations AI declaration approved unanimously on 21 March 2024, (https://new.un.org/en/story/2024/03/1147831) , it becomes necessary to be able to analyse the 360 degree impacts of AI on human beings and our planet in a specific manner covering certain specified areas to ensure the possible impacts in each of those areas are analysed by data scientists and AI developers and remedied through design, build and test considerations. The soft issues of ethics, bias, human and data rights are particularly hard to analyse. In addition, there are mandatory conditions for Traceability, Explainability, Verifiabiity and Validation (TEVV) to be met.

Such requirements did not exist in the last few years due to which the meteoric growth of AI was possible. Companies which do not encourage the use of these analysis and design techniques will not be able to productionize their AI systems in the near future. Data scientists, developers, business analysts, software/AI managers, software/AI quality departments, AI risk assessment committees etc. will be held accountable for adopting human centric AI analysis, design, development, evaluation and testing methods and processes.

Let us not be misguided into thinking that these concessions which were hitherto possible without any ramifications will continue in the future. New AI regulations within countries will ensure that proper analysis, design, development and testing in a Human centric manner is done for all production AI systems.

The main Intent and driving force behind  my book, ‘Applied Human-Centric AI’ is to help readers address the above issues through deep understanding and methodical study. It provides detailed analysis methods for designing human-centric AI, bringing together the new modified AI/ML project life-cycle, detailed milestone based deliverables, ML engineering processes/templates to provide a holistic approach and comprehensive Guide to all actors in the design and development of AI systems. It is relevant that the book builds on the AI analysis and design frameworks recommended by global leading AI bodies like OECD, NIST, EU and California AI data laws. A 2 minute video explanation of the book is available at (https://youtu.be/xtvfJSarZVw ).

The book is available as paperback ( http://https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CYXHYPHC) and e-book can be purchased from Kindle store. Hope you enjoy reading the book!
