AI Security Threat alert for action!

A major AI Security treat has just been detected. This calls for action on the part of users of Google products to secure themselves.

The AI threat for Google products users

In October 2025, during a major upgrade of its Gemini AI tools installation, in a surreptitious move to gather private data using Gemini AI Assistant without user consent, Google accessed the emails, chats and google meet content of millions of its users including the author’s by using “ON” as the default configuration of AI settings .

The images at the top left of this article shows the gmail settings status of smart compose, smart reply and Smart Workspace as “ON”  before they were switched off by the author. The image on the right is from gmail settings on a desktop and shows that the Google Workspace Smart features were turned on by default without any intimation or consent of the user.

Google’s is capturing as much personal data using all manners possible to train AI models even at the cost of modelling its own customers without their knowledge or consent.

How to secure your Gmail and Gmail workspaces

If you do not want Gemini’s AI assistant to access your email, chat, google meet and google products data, please go to Gmail settings of your account preferably on the desktop (since the workspace setting does not show up on the mobile) and switch off smart compose and personalization, smart features, smart reply and Google workspace smart features.

A major lawsuit has recently been filed in the US District Court for Northern District of California (San Jose) against Google for this transgression. Google is yet to respond.
